David Jamin is a contemporary artist who explores inner emotions and human movements. He paints subjects such as 'Introportrait', 'Dandy', 'Child' modelled after his children, and 'Flower' with sensuous colors and dynamic brush touches.
He was born in Nimes, a small city in southern France, Nimes, and spent his childhood in Provence. At the age of 10, due to his father’s job, David moved to Calais, where he studied fine art.
After starting work with Art World Gallery in 1996, he received love calls from fans and gained international fame, quickly becoming a promising artist. Since then, he has been exhibiting all over Europe, including France, England, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, New York, and Montreal, Canada.

The figures in David Jamin's canvases are sometimes depicted alone, but sometimes as a duo facing each other. The duo shows the inner fusion of the two characters, and each inner side is merged into one and recreated in a new inner form.

In this exhibition, in particular, a series of introportrait set against the background of ‘night’ will be presented. The introportrait drawn against a black background create a mysterious atmosphere with the contrast between the black color representing the night and the intense blue and orange colors representing autumn, expressed in the light from incandescent lamps. David's exploration of the inner world continues to evolve in various forms, with color and subject matter gradually changing even today, and through this work, David is establishing his identity as 'David Jamin', not as a painter.

The exhibition begins with a tour of his studio in Provence, shedding light on the world of art that began when he, who was born in the south, lived in the north for 30 years and moved permanently to a village in the south in 2013. In David's life, the event of returning to the south of France is the most important keyword in his life, and the change that occurred after returning to his hometown and the artistic world view are the big factors that sustain him now.

The exhibition is titled “Provence” and “Dandy”, paying attention to the exploration of the theme of “Dandy” that Jamin has drawn throughout his life, his attempt to combine that persona with the artist’s own soul, and the concept of “Dandy” that seems to go against the times. “David Jamin: Le Dandy de Provence” was decided by putting the two keywords.
