Porsche Korea Donates 200MKRW to the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture (SFAC) to Support Performing Artists in the Midst of the Pandemic
February 16, 2021
Porsche Korea has successfully donated 200MKRW to the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture (SFAC) and signed a partnership agreement, initiating the launch of a new CSR program: “Porsche Do Dream Fill the Space." On February 16, Holger Gerrmann, the Representative Director/CEO of Porsche Korea, and Jonghwi Kim, the CEO of SFAC, attended the launching ceremony where they both spoke to each organization's commitment to bettering society and helping those most in need, including Korean artists who are struggling to make ends meet due to COVID-19.
Porsche Korea’s “Do Dream Fill the Space” is a new CSR sub-program under the overarching “Do Dream” project, which has been strategized to focus particularly on culture in Korean society. “Do Dream Fill the Space” is an initiative that supports performance artists by purchasing tickets for empty seats at performances that are experiencing low turn-out due to social distancing regulations mandated by the government. The total amount of donations will benefit around 37 performing teams and these teams will be selected once they've passed the application and review stage of the process. As a new CSR project, one of its most impressive facets is that its impact is not just limited to performing artists who are seriously affected by COVID-19. To the general public, the project also highlights the importance of art and culture--and the crucial role that they play in our daily lives.
Holger Gerrmann, the CEO of Porsche Korea, remarked that “artists are one of the main cultural cornerstones in our society who keep it vibrant and encourage creativity. We hope to make consistent contributions that will help keep their dreams alive.” Other than the “Porsche Do Dream Fill the Space” program, Porsche Korea will continue to expand into even more exciting CSR programs that engage with society all the more, finding new and exciting ways to advocate and promote awareness of social and environmental issues.
