On April 30, ECCK President Christoph Heider paid a visit to Gwangju City to discuss future partnerships between the Chamber and Gwangju City with Mayor Lee Yong-seop.
“When I met the CEOs of two European companies operating in Gwangju, I was very satisfied with the business environment. We will continue to cooperate with Gwangju City to promote its business environment to European companies by holding promotions to introduce the city.”, said ECCK President Christoph Heider.
While in Gwangju, President Heider visited Gwangju’s major industrial sites including the BitGreen Automobile Industrial Complex and Gwangju Free Economic Zone, with Kim Jin-cheol, Director of the Gwangju Free Economic Zone.

On May 21, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province Ambassador/ Vice Governor for International Relations Hyunmo Koo paid a visit to ECCK President Christoph Heider.
The two parties discussed opportunities for future collaboration during the meeting, and ECCK looks forward to the partnership with Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
Meeting with KMI Director General Deukhoon Han

On May 13, ECCK President, Christoph Heider had a meeting with Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) Director General, Deukhoon (Peter) Han.
KMI has important functions in the Korean maritime, fisheries and shipping/ports policies. Opportunities for future collaboration have been discussed during the meeting, and ECCK looks forward to the partnership with KMI.
Meeting with BFIC Secretary General Jongpil Chung

On May 13, ECCK President, Christoph Heider had a meeting with Busan Foundation for International Cooperation (BFIC) Secretary General, Jongpil Chung.
BFIC aims for a public diplomacy institution specialized in branding “Glocal(Global+local) Busan”. Opportunities for future collaboration have been discussed during the meeting, and ECCK looks forward to the partnership with BFIC.
ECCK Co-hosts Event in Busan with NBA

On May 25, ECCK and the Norwegian Business Association (NBA), co-hosted an event under the theme: “Busan ports”
The event kicked off with Busan old port boat tour supported by Busan Port Authority (BPA) followed by a seminar about the new port by Busan New Container Terminal (BNCT) at Fairfield by Marriott Busan Songdo Beach.
This event could only happen thanks to our valuable participants and special support from the event partner: BPA and BNCT. Therefore, we thank you again for making the event splendid!

ECCK M&S Committee’s Managing Directors Meeting

On May 11, the ECCK Marine and Shipbuilding Committee had its annual managing directors meeting. The meeting was officially opened by M&S committee chairperson Mr. Tommy Rasmussen.
In this meeting, our associate members from Yoon & Yang shared the current maritime legal updates and have interacted with the members. The committee members have also discussed with EUD about their main concerns of the merger between HHI & DSME.
ECCK Tourism Working Group Meeting

On May 26, the ECCK Tourism Working Group had a meeting at ECCK. The group discussed issues regarding the White Paper 2021, one of ECCK’s publications.
The tourism working group hopes to improve the business environment for the tourism sector through collaboration within ECCK’s member companies.
