Change of Entry Regulations to Korea
August 30, 2021
The suspension of visa-free entry to the Republic of Korea, which has been in effect for over a year, will be lifted for citizens of the European Union and Schengen countries from September 1, 2021. This means that short-term stays (less than 90 days) will again be possible without a visa.
Instead, European nationals residing outside Korea and travelling to Korea must then apply via the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization – or in short K-ETA – at least 24-hours prior to departure. The application can be either done online or via the K-ETA app. For further information, please refer to the web-page of K-ETA (www.k-eta.go.kr).
